idk who needs to hear this, and it may be common sense, but I got physically leaner/toned and significantly thicker hair bc I changed the quality of my calories (I weigh almost exactly the same if not sometimes a little less)

bc basically in college I weighed a similar range, but I looked less toned / more bloated w/ thinner hair, so I prob had a similar calorie intake obvi

It’s probably not because of the calorie “quality”, but moreso the total macro composition and your activity level. You said you switched from kitkats to protein bars, that’s like atleast 20g more protein and less fats right there. You switched from high sodium ramen, sweet treats and the biggest one alcohol, to lean meats like sardines, and vegetables. You also started having set meal times and started exercising more (walking).

so in college I used to still try to eat veggies, but many days I would fast all day and eat carbs like ramen, sugar treats, or obvi alcohol

w my new job I needed more sustainable energy, and I needed to incorporate walking more regularly, I switched kitkats for protein bars and started spending more $/effort to eat nutritional foods: sardines/veggies/salads/etc, I also did have to stop drinking cuz it didn’t make sense for me

cuz I used to think mainly calories in and out and the rest was too complicated but it’s just a pleasant surprise how much proper nutrition can benefit u
