Working 80-100+ hrs a week at a desk and still getting jacked made me realize a lot of y’all not getting results genuinely aren’t putting the work in. Accountability is your biggest tool, or hindrance. Don’t lie to yourself.

If I was working 100 hours a week, getting 8 hours of sleep, I would not be spending my 12 free hours a week getting jacked. I can admit that about myself

How many days do you lift in an avg week?

Finance. You do nothing else but work and sleep, and whatever else you choose to do with your very precious non-working hours (usually have to sacrifice sleep).

I work in private equity (hence the crazy hrs)- there’s definitely other roles within the space with significantly less hours, but with less pay

Did you go to an ivy league school with a high gpa? I know it can be very competitive to get in without being extremely high achieving academically. (Unless you know some good people)

You’re not getting 8 hrs of sleep, that’s the thing (not even close). But I hear you- at that point, you tend to prioritize the things that matters most to you

I aim to be able to lift 5-6 times a week. Given my workload is out of my hands, I realistically average closer to 4-5 times a week given that sometimes I literally cannot escape the desk

If you’re working 100 hours a week you’re somebody else’s slave. The people who are actually making bank in private equity are not working more than maybe an hour or two per day.

>your workload is out of your hands Ah that explains it even more. You’re someone else’s grunt doing all the hard work while they sit around cashing in x5 more than you while working 1/10 the hours
