advice: my bf failed his sandbag throw in comp bc he wouldn’t listen to me when I told him where the height was in practice. I measured it with phone (not as accurate but still) and he insisted it was lower than that. so he practiced it low

If he cares about being successful in his sport he needs to learn how to accept advice and criticism positively. Let him get over his failure, then tell him how it hurt you that he disregarded your advice and him being rude.

I told him once where the height was, he was super mean and told me I had to be wrong, practiced it at that height and then failed every throw in comp bc he was throwing the wrong height. now how do I break to him how bad he fucked up being so mean to me while being super wrong while also being kind and keeping in mind he’s sad bc he failed

like the whole time I was like ok, it’s fine that he’s being so mean bc come comp day he will realize how wrong he is but now I don’t want to be mean at first yk

Does he deserve that level of kindness?

well it was that event that made him solidly unable to win at all and it was his first time every zeroing so he’s at a very low point, it might be something to bring up later?

Bring it up later but also you shouldn’t have to deal with him being super mean about it that doesn’t sound healthy
