Getting into running after barely exercising all winter and I ran a mile in 10 mins today, which isn’t too bad for a beginner right 🤧🤧

depends on your goals but don’t worry about that, focus on keeping your heart rate low and the speed will come eventually as your cardiovascular fitness increases. It’s not a race, no one cares if you run a sub 9 by the end of summer, especially no one cares if you do that but then burn out and give up running. just enjoy don’t worry so much

not bad for a beginner i think anything sub sub 8-sub 7 would be considered fit or “good”

Yeah I’ll be pretty realistic and aim for sub 9 by end of summer and really really aspire to sub 8 eventually

one thing that helped me drop my mile by a minute was gradually increasing pace every week or so
