Trainer here. An unfortunately high amount of people come to me expecting a magic solution to their bodies and quit when I tell them that they need to put in work. My job isn’t to do the work for somebody, it’s to help them understand which work to do.
Just had a woman who hired me specifically to help her lose weight completely crash out at me and call me a misogynist pig because I told her that a calorie deficit is necessary to lose weight. You gotta have some patience for ignorance if you wanna coach

I feel like I would be relieved it wasn’t like a medical reason I couldn’t lose weight… like damn okay there’s ZERO excuse now, im healthy and all I gotta do is put my head down and grind

Unfortunately, a lot of people would rather live with the cope that their problems aren’t in their control, than have to look themselves in the eye and recognize that it is their fault that they haven’t achieved their goals. It’s a fear of accountability and comfort in the excuses they make.

Totally agree. Call me close minded but when people are okay with being unhealthy (due to their habits) and continue to make it worse it confuses me…

It pisses me off tbh, and I HATE how our culture has made it acceptable to make excuses for everyone. It truly is not that much work to reach your health goals. Most of my healthy habits don’t cost me any extra time or money. Drinking water instead of soda, having a consistent bedtime, eating proper servings, leaving the junk food on the shelf at the store, etc. There’s no excuse for anyone to not be doing the little things.
