A lot of people are surprised by my weight bc I don’t really look 180, my arms and legs look pretty mid sized but all my fat goes to my stomach which is the worst. Even at my lowest which was 140 I still had a bigger stomach. Idk how to fix that

I would recommend downloading a food tracker app if you think that’s something that might work for you - at the moment I really like MacroFactor! Awareness about food is a really important first step. In my experience certain snacks can seem harmless, but can actually be contributing to weight gain because they have more calories per serving than expected. You definitely don’t need to cut out all good foods (carbs, sugar, fat, etc.), but everything in moderation, so for me a food tracker helps.

I would also say a tangible first step can be to cut down on late night snacks. Your body’s metabolism slows down at night, so everything you eat at night is harder for your body to break down and can lead to more rapid weight gain than if the same food was eaten during the day. Eat a protein-filled dinner so you stay full longer, and try not to eat anything later. For me, that has helped me to see results faster.

GIRL I HEAR YOU! I’m F24 5’4 and now 154lbs but the heaviest I’ve weighed was 178. It takes time, dedication, and diet. My goal right now is 145, and what helped the sugar cravings (bc that was also my issue) was FIBER! Adequate fiber intake regulated your glucose levels and it curbs your cravings. Two servings of veg at lunch/dinner will get you straight. Protein is ofc important, but fiber is what will help you stick to a deficit without binging.

i’m 5’5 145 but i used to be in the 180s when i was in high school. i cannot recommend swimming enough— it is the ultimate exercise and i got abs from it even with my stubborn PCOS belly. i’d set your goal weight to 150 for now and see how it feels. if you feel happy and healthy at that weight, chances are you’re going to feel fatigued and sickly at 130. i’m in great shape at 145 even though i was 130 at this height in my youth. sometimes the shape of an adult body weighs more than we expect.

I don’t even cut out carbs (they’re great workout fuel and your body’s preferred form of energy!). Right now my intake is 35% protein and 35% carbs, 30% fat. I average around 28-30g of fiber a day. Paired with a slight caloric deficit and consistent time in the gym, I’ve lost 10.2 lbs in a handful of months. I was 165 last December, and the same routine is what helped me get to 165 from 178. You’ll get there too!
