Genetics are your canvas and muscle building is how you paint your canvas. You paint your canvas based on the shape of it but a lot of people go for physiques that don’t fit with their canvas.

It doesn’t really play a big role though

It really does. Not everyone builds muscle at the same rate or has the same potential

Yeah cuz everyone wants an aesthetic muscular physique

You don’t know that until you’ve reached your max genetic potential or you’re a bodybuilder though

You do. Considering some people gain muscle really quick and reach high weights at early ages

It could be a million other things holding you back, you have no idea

If you’re gaining them slowly you don’t know that’s genetic though

It is genetic. There’s dudes walking around weighing 180 lbs without trying hard and barely hitting the gym

If you actually train you can achieve 90% of what that 180lb guy does though

I do “actually train” like you say yet my weight is not near that number

You have no idea if that’s your genetics or your training or diet or sleep though. Why would you fixate on the one thing you can’t change? Trying harder is more productive than making excuses

Wait- bad wording on that analogy cause my point was intended to mean that just because you don’t have “good” genetics, doesn’t mean u can’t work around it and still have a good physique despite being at a disadvantage. And don’t need an aesthetic physique to have a good physique. But at the end of the day, you train for yourself not others. Even the people that have the best physiques have something they dislike about their physique

As a senior in high school I could barely 65 pounds. Now I can rep 275. If I had your mindset I would’ve been completely fucked. But I made the most of my allegedly shitty genetics.

Currently I’m stronger than I’ve ever been but my body weight is nowhere near where I want it to be

Nah I train for others. Comments about my body is what got me to work out and I just want them to stop.

It takes a while. Try to drink lots of calories, easier than eating them.

Well yeah I feel like most people start cause of others, but when u lift for years it turns into sport for yourself. It’s a time and progression game physically and mentally. u can’t rush it but u also can’t sleep on it

Man even if you hate all food and don’t have a favorite food, you gotta ask yourself, do you hate food more than you wanna get big?

I like eating at my normal pace. I don’t like it when I have to eat while not being hungry to gain weight. Last successful bulk I did was because I was eating mostly takeout food and junk food for lunch which was giving me an easy 1000 calorie boost throughout the day

so you don’t like what actually works, there lies the problem

Ok so you’re saying your problem is genetics, but you also refuse to eat at anything that isn’t your “normal pace” or eat when you aren’t hungry

Yeah I’ve done it before and did gain weight from it on my last bulk but I just hate it all the way through. Ik people that barely eat 2,000 calories and weight 180 so genetics does play a big role

You’ve tracked every single calorie they’ve eaten for at least a week? And every calorie you’ve eaten for a week? And you also compensated for things like bodyfat percentage and activity level?
