I’m a girl who is recently a retired college athlete. Over the years my arms have gotten a bit big from lifting so much/heavy. Is it ok for me to stop training arms for a while esp as someone w an inverted triangle body(id still train upper thru Pilates)

Yes. Notes from my exes: (very gym focused) They said they got better blood chemistry results from mainly training legs. Bunch of studies came out recently that indicated leg strength was the strongest correlated thing to longevity. Figure they move blood furthest from the heart so you’re going to oxygenate more tissue if your workouts are mainly leg focused.

I wonder if the leg strength correlates with more cardio—->stronger heart—->less plaque buildup——> less likely to suffer a heart attack & die.

Sprints tend to release the anti-aging hormones and bring out “fierce” features. Especially when people get 40+ They are at more risk of a raw strength injury debilitating them for years and stopping them training. So the people who run distance still break hips and lose knee cartilage. All my coworkers 40+ who did/do sprints still are able to lift/carry 150lbs + of gear every day with no or very few issues.
