So I’m a girl just now getting into the workout world and I was wondering is it possible to get stronger without getting the buff muscle look? Maybe have a few defining lines but not too much yk. And how would I achieve that?

Girl I’ve been lifting weights with the goal of getting buff and muscular for like 3 years and i don’t even look like I workout unless I’m flexing. Just do whatever workouts you want and don’t worry about that.

Oh yeah ditch that worry OP. The amount of food a person has to eat to get “buff” takes a tremendous amount of focus that won’t happen by accident.

It’ll take a LOT of effort to look really buff, work out intensively and normally and see when you’re happy with your strength

you’re not just going to get ripped by accident, trust. your body is actually going to resist that 😂

Most women who are super buff aren’t natural. But even those who are buff and natty- it takes YEARS and I mean YEARS to get there and it’s never by accident. If you are lifting, i recommend do it for health and not for chasing a certain aesthetic. Our bodies have their own form that they grow into once they get healthy and you can only control it to an extent. I recommend jsut eat healthy and lift in a progressive overload so you can get stronger and in the long term prevent osteoporosis

“So I’m a girl getting into a swimming and I was wondering how do I avoid becoming an Olympic swimmer?” Trust me you’re not gonna get buff if you’re asking this, for women starting out any “bulk” you get from the gym is just excess body fat over muscle

You can’t get buff by accident. As a woman just getting stronger is a challenge for us compared to men. I’d love to share with you what my gym split looks like if you’d like to go more in depth in dms! Also physical appearance is 80% diet and only 20% exercise. Eating clean with a a focus on protein will be the most important part of your journey

Getting too big is something I’ve been trying to do for 6+ years with every ounce of effort I can. All due respect you aren’t gonna get too buff on accident

The women that look super buff are on steroids. As women our hormones won’t let us get super jacked like the people in body builder competitions. Plus muscle grows (naturally) pretty slowly even eating tons of protein, so you can always switch to maintenance vs growth once you’re happy with your body composition.

So for my meals I don’t count calories or anything, I’ve had an ED before so instead I’m just mindful of protein. But a good rule of thumb is .7-1 gram of protein per pound you weigh if you do want to count! Also sticking to whole ingredients is best overall. And for gym, I have a 4 day split, I do push, legs, pull, legs. I can show you my exact exercises if you’d like
