I’m not very sure. I’ve done it both ways and I personally like going lighter first than heavier because it’s easier to see my progression in strength and move up weight when I need to. If I’m maxing out on the last set at 6 one week and the next week I max out at 8 on the last set I know to move up weight a little next time
Pyramid training accomplishes nothing lol, it doesn’t do anything different for the muscles that maintaining the same weight and rep ranges doesn’t do, just makes you move around plates a lot more. And this is not a dropset. A dropset is when you hit failure, drop the weight, and do more reps with no rest time (this is also stupid and pointless). What he’s describing would just be reverse pyramid training.
Lol well it works for me. I went from benching 155 to 225 in a month. I was just suggesting it because op said they are not seeing progress and I was offering a way for them to have some structure in their workout and maybe see better results. If you don't thinks it's beneficial oh well🤷🏽♂️
