Does it matter if I do regular squats or smith machine squats I just what a phat ass, defined quads… basically tree trunks for thighs

The more stable exercise will be better for growing muscle, but both are still good options

Either or are fine, your quads and glutes have no clue what a barbell or Smith machine are
