fat loss is solely dependent on a calorie deficit. Doing cardio can help increase your caloric burn and make your deficit greater, but it doesn’t matter if you’re eating too much.

Ropes is very anaerobic and you’ll have to rest significantly more, you would benefit more from doing low intensity steady state (LISS) cardio for weight loss

Any type of cardio is going to be effective. I also prefer low intensity, but enjoyment is the most important factor.
