what's better? to have the exact same routine every single week or change up a few exercises every once in a while? genuine question

Exact same u can swap if u care about getting bored and stuff but do it systematically. Like one Push day u could do bench next u could do a pec fly just make sure its planned and ordered but realistically same routine is simpler and works just as much

Ultimately it’s Better to try to keep the same routine to track progress over time

but changing it up (while following a routine) wouldn't like stop me from getting results, right? this is probably a dumb question, I just want to make sure I have the right information. say I want to follow one specific glute routine (1) this week and then next week try out some new exercises (2) and then go back to 1 the following week and so on, or even if I just try a new routine one week and go back to normal after that

Yea alternating exercises like that is perfectly fine cuz either way u can still track progress and youll neurally adapt to them

Just make sure that whatever replacements ur doing hit the same muscle group/ are similar joint actions example leg press and squats are the same so its fine but if it was leg extension and leg press, itd be weird cuz squat patterns dont hit the rectus femoris well(sorry if im overcomplicating)
