You lose weight by eating less calories than you expend. Pilates won't contribute that much to that. You should track the calories that you eat

Pilates burns calories so that increases the expenditure… no need to discourage people

You burned calories typing that sentence; it's not really enough to make a noticeable difference. Especially since increased activity causes more hunger. If you're not tracking calories, it's pretty difficult to not eat additional calories to cancel out the effect of additional exercise.
