how do I get over the depression to get into the gym? I want it, but it’s so hard to explain to those that i genuinely am struggling to do anything at the moment, and it’s probably due to executive dysfunction

Get a gym buddy, someone to keep you accountable, and you keep them accountable. After that just start small, set some goals and lock in on them.

What #1 said, and I’ve dealt with the same thing and at a point you just have to force it. Make a time in your day and just do it
