As someone with a bunch of medical stuff, stop caring. When I started going to the gym I was also terrified and was embarrassed about my medical stuff. I would lie on the floor in between sets, and stress about how sweaty I would get (I can’t regulate body temperature). I also have to modify exercises for me and take a bunch of different meds before a workout. I was so embarrassed at first but there’s nothing to be scared of. The gym honestly helped my health so so much and now I spend my rest
I’ve learned to be able to feel when I’m going to pass out, it’s kinda like throwing up when you know you can’t hold it anymore and I’ll usually take it as a sign I’m working myself too hard but sometimes I keep going if I feel up to it, but usually I have to convince the people who saw me so they don’t call an ambulance or freak out about how nonchalant I am about it
Time literally dancing around the gym. I’m also stronger and more capable than I ever was and most people wouldn’t even know I’m disabled. Also make friends with the owners and staff members. One of the owners of my gym knows all about my medical stuff and what to do if something happens and is always checking up on me. The gym community is a good one, get yourself involved
