I’m not going to judge a 📕 by its cover, but I’m also not going to ignore what the cover is telling me: Regardless of race/disability/ideology, let’s agree if a politician doesn’t care about their own health, they likely don’t care about ours.

Depends on what the advice is about. If it’s about getting big, not likely. If they are a coach who used to be super fit and jacked, I likely would still listen critically.

Also however you think it “works” it clearly does not. America just went through its most unhealthy era despite having more resources allocated to “heath” than we ever had in the past.

Do you think Chris Bumstead should just ignore all of his coaches? He’s bigger than all of them, so clearly he must be the most knowledgeable hypertrophy expert in the world.

Oh but they’re not bigger than CBum so they can’t know more than him. Thats your logic for this shit. Cbum is a perfect example of how size doesn’t equate to knowledge, since he thinks dropsets work. I, and nobody else could ever look as good as he does. Doesn’t mean we can’t be objective about what is true and what’s not, and it doesn’t mean that he’s necessarily knowledgeable.

Don’t sweat it #2, #1 appears to have some issue with his eyes… and acknowledging the results of one of the competitions that is perhaps one of the most scientifically and athletically intensive. To him, it appears whomever the establishment says is healthy and smart, is healthy and smart. He’s still caught in a 1984 loop.

the establishment doesn't say that official is healthy though. they don't say that. they say she is qualified to judge what is and is not healthy, which is entirely different. same as how a doctor who smokes is still qualified to give you medical care.

Anyone who disagrees with you is demonically possessed according to you lmao. The idea that a fat person could have an education on health is so unfathomable to you that you think the only explanation is a conspiracy theory or supernatural action.

THANK YOU. It hurts my soul that we still have people so mind numbingly stupid that they care about the physical appearance of health experts more than they care about their education. OP somehow made this issue transphobic too lol.

Cool little guy. Bodybuilding coaching and being a health expert aren’t the same thing. Shocking, I know.

no they aren't. someone can be a health expert while making unhealthy choices. plenty of doctors smoke and do drugs, but no one cares. their education is what matters.

yes. and which one of these is most comparable to a government official? a doctor. and the original thread is about a government official, and i am arguing that their obesity means nothing about their qualifications. personal trainers are a different story

"being obese" and "being educated enough on public health policy to lead a government office" are not mutually exclusive. so yes, their obesity means nothing about their fitness for the job

do you think every obese person knows nothing about health? do you think being obese cancels out formal education about health? and yes, if they were a registered dietitian i would. because that's the qualification that counts, not their body size. would you trust a random thin person to give you a diet plan? no, because random thin people can't be trusted to know what they're doing because they lack the training.
