That’s roughly 20 weeks, if you want to bias fat loss a good rule of thumb is about a pound a week. You could certainly push it to 2lb a week but you run the risk of losing minuscule amounts of muscle (this is assuming that in both scenarios you eat sufficient protein amounts for your weight)

If you’re 300lbs that’s fine but if you’re under 200 I would highly suggest against that

That’s a bit high, trying to lose more than 1 lb per week is a little fast and can be dangerous especially if you’re working out a lot, I would maybe try to go for like 30 lbs or extend to like 6 months

3500 cals in a pound of fat, so you need to lose 140k calories. 5 months is like 150 days, so you’d need about a 1000 cal deficit per day. i’d do that by doing one meal a day while minimizing carbs so your body adapts to using fat for energy rather than glucose

I lost 4lbs in a week doing a calorie deficit so it’s definitely possible

Pseudoscience? Dude I’m a nutrition major and losing weight too quickly is absolutely a thing a 2 lbs per week is too high for most people (unless you’re starting from a high body weight like someone else here mentioned). Even while having good nutrition you still can lose muscle if you’re not eating enough, especially if you’re training a lot!! Slow and steady is much safer and more sustainable, also consider how much work it would be to regain progress lost if you lose weight too quickly

Trying to lose fat by cutting carbs is a bad idea, is you can’t understand this then you obviously lack the science education to talk about nutrition

I think we’re all on a similar page realistically tho, let’s not argue with the air, but if you’re in a cut the most logical sacrifice would be carbs over your healthy fats (assuming you don’t eat a large amount of excess fats). can we all agree on that? it seems like we all agree on this so what’s the problem

well hang on except for maybe #2 but nobody is saying go carnivore and remove all carbs

i think you’re reading into that specific word too hard, minimizing likely means quit smacking the pasta and bread for dinner. i keep my carbs/protein relatively the same as well, as most sane individuals do on a cut. unless they go carnivore entirely which is only beneficial to the small population that can actually stay that consistent in doing so, imo it’s not worth the effort
