U got good weight and height. So what I think you should do is maybe start at bar forsure then go up from there but stay in the 4-6 range till you get up to the weight your trying to lift to max and just keep going from there. Also idk if you drink caffeine e but I used to have a lot of pre workout before but I don’t anymore but maybe like a protein bar before your life will give you good energy

My training was terrible for years so it took years to hit a plate (at 16 almost 17) and then I hit 225 two years after that (at 19)

Flat bench; but I don’t go for prs, just progressive overload on all of my lifts

135 December 2022, 225 December 2024. Started lifting consistently November 2022 (I had been an athlete in high school so I was decently strong)

I hit 245 for 9th grade football. So I got it pretty much immediately. But I’m a pretty good sized dude

That’s insane progress, congrats! Any advice you could give should I go for it again? I’ve been doing incline or machine bench press for chest growth

I would just say to bench first then go for like a couple warm up weights like just 6 reps then go for your max but have a spotter

I’ll share about myself: 175 pounds, 6 ft tall, very very avid gamer who never leaves the house. I’ve been going to the gym for about 4 months solidly, with a month dedicated to summer, and just got back to the gym a week ago. I haven’t tried it yet, but I benched a solid 100 pounds for about 6 reps, 95 for 8. Used to struggle with the bar when I first started. College and diet are factors, fast metabolism.

Yeah pyramid, starting weight then decreasing it until you reach 1 rep. Takes up a lot of time dedicating to it so I’m gonna have to wait until I got good time on my hands. Thanks for the pre workout tip, caffeine doesn’t affect me as much but I have been good with taking creatinine!
