Track your calories and eat less than your maintenance calories

track what you’ve currently been eating and drinking and see how many calories you’ve been consuming. also pay attention to the macro split that’s super important as well, not just overall calories

We had similar starting weights! I’m 5’6” and started at 315. I am not 295 and no longer pre diabetic. The biggest help for me was working out. Focusing on food too much made it harder imo. I just tracked but didn’t restrict

Drop to a strict 2k calories, track every single calorie that enters your body.

At 2900 cal maintenance, losing weight shouldn’t be difficult lol

It says my maintenance calories are like 2,900 and I genuinely don’t think I consume that many calories a day. It feels like my body is betraying me, I’ve gotten bloodwork done and it’s always normal. The only time I’ve lost weight was consuming mostly liquids

what in gods name are you inputting into the calculator to return a 2900 maintenance unless you’re like 5’10”+😭

I’m 5’7 and 295

Obviously, that’s why I’m asking for tips bc it shouldn’t be this hard

your maintenance just isn’t 2900 and even if you could argue it is (you can’t) you are trying to lose weight so it would need to be substantially below 2900 to begin with anyways

The tip would be to eat less than 2900 calories a day and you’d lose weight. There is nothing more to it. If you are eating less than 2900 calories a day and are still gaining weight, then 2900 is not your maintenance

This is what I keep getting. I don’t think my maintenance is that much either tbh

Maybe I should try this, I struggled with an ED a lot in the past and obsessed over food and tracking

Yup I have ice cream nearly every day and still maintain my deficit. I think that you can still enjoy what you want and lose weight and people who say you can’t are lying. Rarely do I decide to go with something else cause it’s “healthier”

Ughhh after getting off of a GLP1 (didn’t help) I’ve felt like a bottomless pit, I’ve had this insatiable hunger

Tbh I snack all day long! Just low cal snacks. I really like tuna and crackers and a tuna pack is like 70 cals and I eat them with these crackers they’re like 130 for 11 of them which is enough so boom snack for 200 cals and it’s super satiating bc lots of protein from the tuna!
