I hate having to bulk because I just lose my abs😭💀

not much of a need to bulk to the point you’re losing your abs unless you’re unhealthily lean

I play college baseball where I lose 15-20 pounds every season so I basically have to gain almost “too much” weight so that I’m not a stick by the end of the season. Sorry kinda hard to explain lol

That makes so much sense!! I’ve never understood bulking but I’ve never experienced losing too much weight/ muscle mass so that makes sense

I mean, not to state the obvious, but you can always just eat more during the season

Respectfully, it’s almost impossible. With having games 4+ times a week and having to skip meals because we’re playing or traveling, everyone be losing weight. My hyper fast metabolism doesn’t help either haha

notice how you didn’t say impossible, you said almost impossible, meaning that if you wanted it bad enough, you would. Meal prep and finding high calorie snacks are not that difficult.

so you naturally burn almost 2,000 calories doing absolutely nothing and then this guys is most likely burning 1,000 calories a day or more so that’s almost shedding a pound right there. He’d have to eat like 3,000 million bajillion calories to maintain himself and that takes a lot of time and money that he doesn’t have sooo

Consider your BMR and then your activity and your maintenance calories. It’s a lot

I am smart, and in this economy it’s not cheap unless it’s pure sugar.

Not true at all. Rice is cheap, pretty much any bread is cheap, nuts and nut butters are cheap, etc

upvote 1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #1 10w

No tf it isn’t. Good nut butter without a lot of sugar is so expensive. And nuts are too. It also depends on your area and where you live. You also need more than carbs and fats to live sooo

Also I feel like you’re forgetting how I only get to have 2 meals a day 4 days out of the week for 4 months straight. 2 meals with some small snacks in between is never gonna be enough to even maintain weight

Chicken breast, rice, mixed veggies, tortillas, various seasonings you can find cheap, peanut butter, whole wheat bread, bananas, oatmeal, milk, greek yogurt, honey, and cinnamon toast crunch make up the majority of my diet. Shop at aldi, buy in bulk when I can, very easily staying below $40 a week.

okay but can you provide the price and macros of each? That’s easily over $100 right there

You legit can’t perform from one source of high calorie foods. Calories = energy , but you need more nutrients than you can get from one or two cheap sources. If you can reach your calories from random stuff that’s not good because you’re eventually going to be malnourished.

here’s my micro nutrient profile. Only thing lacking is fiber, cuz I didn’t feel like taking my fiber supplement that day. Again, $40 a week

You can quite literally buy milk at dollar tree - quite literally my hack for when I go to college. It’s shelf stable, costs a $1.25, and tastes decent. Am I drinking nothing but milk for my calories? Absolutely not. But it’s amazing for polishing up the last ~500-900 cals for the rest of my day.

Milk isn’t shelf stable. And, we’ve covered that we like milk already.

Do some research into ultra-pasteurized milk. Guess they didn’t teach that in class 😭🙏

upvote 1 downvote

did you specify that your milk of choice was ultra pasteurized milk? No. It sucks that they can’t teach common sense.

shelf stable milk is by default ultra pasteurized genius

upvote 1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #3 10w

that proves no points. You still didn’t specify which type of milk you bought, so it’s assumed that you’re stupid and leaving 2% milk on the counter to curdle.

upvote 1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #2 10w

bruhh you don’t understand what i’m saying the dollar tree milk (looks like this) is a small enough size that if you’re trying to get in cals like I do (and op sounds like he’s tryna do) for bodybuilding purposes than you drink it within the day or one sitting. It’s shelf stable when unopened. Correct, if you leave it open and out, it will go bad. But unopened stash is chilling until you open them.
