It’s interesting that in America so much fast food and unhealthy food is advertised but on the other hand the beauty standard is to be slim

beauty standard is always what’s unattainable to the lower class. right now, it’s skinny. historically, women with some chub were attractive bc they had the money to eat well. I’m interested to see what it becomes if glp-1s become accessible for everyone.

i think it’s because the want the beauty standard to be “unattainable” like healthy food is a luxury that not everyone can have.

It is pretty crazy I mean has anyone seen those Carl’s Jr ads where the super models are eating the burgers? So bizarre

Healthy food is attainable- a pack of a dozen eggs is ~ $5 that could feed someone for at least 2 days. Fast food burger is ~ $5 that can feed you once.

i think it’ll go back to the curvy hourglass. having a big butt and what not (2016 kardashians). or maybe even muscular bodies because you really have to work for that and it’s not just in a bottle (although roids exist you still have to work for it)

Right?? Some of the skinny tiktoks are genuinely so dangerous and unhealthy, I feel bad for younger girls seeing that on their feed

you have to actually cook that food and a lot of americans are lazy

Yep. lazy is the issue, not access or not to healthy options.

Google food deserts. Tons of poor urban areas literally do not have grocery stores accessible. Their options for food are fast food places and convenience stores.

I’m not sure what you mean by historically, because in western culture skinny has been the beauty standard since the beginning of the 20th century at least. Not to mention you can eat pretty healthy for less than you can get fast food, especially in recent years

You are severely uneducated if you think healthy food is more accessible than unhealthy food

It’s cheaper to go to the grocery store and buy healthier stuff in larger quantities than it is to eat fast food, that is not debatable. I can make $9 worth of turkey and rice with broccoli last 4 meals, and that’s not even in bulk/larger quantities. That’s less expensive than a meal at any fast food restaurant.

Look up what a food desert is. Most impoverished urban areas literally do not have a grocery store. Their only option for food is fast food, or convenience stores. Your ignorance and assumption that everyone can just go to a walmart is embarrassing.
