The gym is often a more wholesome place than most doctor’s offices or therapists sessions. Obviously still take an ounce of skepticism with you trying new things, but for the most part, yes, there appears to be rites of passage developing in gym culture in the west.

Better, not easier lol. Adding these d grips to the multi grip bar for my cable rows. Helped me engaged the exact part of my upper back I felt like I've been lacking in

This would not be helping your upper back. D-handle would bring your elbows closer to your body and use more lats

Elbows out at 90 degrees, bring the bar to your collar bone
