Any tips for hip thrust? I never feel it in my glutes and it sometimes make my low back feel crusty. Like I can do mine on a machine and can do 230 but I feel Iโ€™m not doing it right somehow so imma go down to fix it

It took me awhile to get it right but I found that putting my feet slightly more than shoulders width apart and squeezing my glutes as I bring my hips up to the bar for my first rep( I use the smith machine) that it really helps! I also do a warm up set and make sure that I can feel my glutes activating before I start my actual set

I have an upper lower split every other day, and I hit each muscle group 2x a week. Sundays are my rest days !
