I wear oversized t shirts and biker shorts usually, because it’s hard enough peeling the shorts off my sweaty ass skin after. But tbh I don’t really care what anyone is wearing (or not wearing) at the gym. I don’t pay attention to other people, and I kind of expect the same from everyone else there. I don’t see how a woman wearing a matching sports bra and shorts is gonna affect my lift, unless it’s such a cute set that I have to ask where she got it from

Doesn't matter, but you can expect both at the same time. Wearing less clothes is putting yourself out there. People have the right to look without it being weird

Women have every right to wear gym clothes to the gym. Men can look too, it’s a public place. The only issue is when men are creeps about it.

Until you're posing there's no reason not to be wearing a pump cover

As long as it’s not absurdly revealing, I understand wanting a full range of motion without being restricted. So I guess my answer is people should just stop staring and making a big deal out of it. And besides, I’ve seen men at the gym with shirts so cut off their entire nipples are out. Don’t love it, but again, it doesn’t impact me. It’s just kind of hypocritical.

Nah frr taking off sweaty clothes is a chore itself

Wearing less clothes isn’t necessarily putting you out there in a good way

My personal opinion is that I don’t care, but that revealing clothes will result in attention. If you don’t want to be given attention based on how your body looks, wear more than a sports bra and tight shorts.

Yeah they do but when do they want to subject themselves to it ? If I know there’s creepy dudes at the gym I’m covering up, doesn’t mean it has to be uncomfortable but ion want a random dude creeping on me just bc I work hard in the gym

Not saying you’re like this man, but this is very much a victim blaming argument. “Well why was she dressed like that?” is dangerously close to a much more sensitive subject with women and creepy men. The answer is that women like to dress like that, and they shouldn’t have to worry about creeps, and women dressing like that is never an excuse for men to be creeps.

What you wear is how you express yourself (mixed with some practicality)

Dudes wear tank tops and 5" Seams and are perfectly fine with hot gyms and have plenty of mobility/comfort. There's no practical reason for a girl to work out in just a sports bra and booty shorts.

I think it’s a more appropriate thing to say within a gym setting bc I know that sensitive topic wouldn’t happen in the gym without 1. A bunch of men coming to bed defense and 2. Said suspect getting the brakes beat off him. But outside the gym? Yeah u can’t really say it bc it’s happened and the woman was basically wearing a trench coat and u couldn’t see anything. But it’s a very touchy subject in general

Just generally, we as a society should not be placing the responsibility on women to prevent creeps

No we shouldn’t but being precautious can’t hurt

it can, because as soon as we start telling women that they should have to be careful just existing in public around men, then we are normalizing the behavior of bad men as just part of life, and not something we need to correct

They need to be careful in general not just with men, their own women as well. There’s bad men and women out there. Unfortunately it won’t ever be corrected

Yep, but our efforts need to be demonizing the men, not critiquing the women. This post is a perfect example of this. Why aren’t you asking men who creep on women at the gym what the hell is wrong with them?

We do and they just keep coming, gotta find the source. 1. They won’t interact bc that would put them in the light 2. They don’t think anything is wrong with it, that’s why they keep doing it 3. They probably think it’s normal to creep on women

You’ve identified the source then. If they don’t think it’s wrong and think it’s normal, we need to do everything we can to make it clear to EVERYONE how not okay it is. We need to start blaming the predators, not questioning the victims.

Well start with corn and OF. But you have to convince everyone that BOTH of those are bad to (many won’t agree)

Denormalizing men’s behavior towards women is 100% the step we should take before trying to take down a billion dollar industry lol

Well yeah, but porn is just out there in the world now. Theres no way to get rid of something as in demand and universal as pornography. Look at prohibition in the 20s, and imagine that, but instead of bottles of liquid, it’s fucking videos on the internet. We can’t stop porn.

Ik that’s why we won’t be able to stop creeps and things alike bc it’s all connected to that source all we can do is teach the harms of it

but we still absolutely cannot be placing the responsibility on the women here

porn is predatory as hell and so many of the pornstars are exploited. OF is gross, but can you blame women for catering to a market of men? Why are we blaming the women making the content, and not the men who consume it? We wouldn’t have an issue with porn if men weren’t consuming it.

Yes is it predatory. Can’t consume what’s not made. That’s like blaming an addict for being addicted to drugs but there’s a dealer down the street. No content no market no market no consumers. Problem starts with the creation
