also obvi it doesn't have to actively be terrible like flossing and brushing teeth and staying hydrated help but it is a real phenomenon (ketosis)

I understand that you think this is a good thing. It’s not. It means your body is burning too much fat and it’s oxidizing in your bloodstream. You really don’t want to lose weight to the point where you have so many free radicals wreaking havoc on your body. It’s not healthy. Weight loss should be slow. 1-2 lbs per month. This sounds like you may be losing 1-2 lbs per week which is unhealthy.

The only things that are produced from burning calories are water heat and carbon dioxide, if your breath smells rancid that’s not because you’re losing weight

Yes I know what ketosis is. If you’re breathing out ketones then your body is overproducing them which is a potential sign of ketoacidosis. You should definitely be seeing your doctor to make sure you’re doing it correctly especially if this ketone breath persists
