This is why trans athletes should not compete in sports where they think they’re the other sex

If you were a woman, would you want to compete against a biological male in a state championship wrestling match? It doesn’t matter how much testosterone you lose. Men are naturally stronger than women and there’s no arguing against that

I mean no one looks over this, people take different amounts of hormones. Do we need to get like usada involved

Me personally I'm so sick of the it's only like 20-30 people argument. Those people compete against thousands of athletes

So you’d be ok with competing against a biological male who is physically stronger than you in every aspect. Watch what would happen. The male would win 10 times out of 10

LMAO how am I sped this is objectively a true take 😭 this is literally why we have men’s and women’s divisions in sports. And no it’s not sexist if it’s facts

The “natural strength” comes from their testosterone giving them more muscle development. In all national sports leagues trans athletes are required to be on hrt for two years in order to compete, which gives them enough time for their muscles to atrophy to the size they would be had they grown up with natural female hormone levels. At that point there is no advantage to be had. Trans ppl have competed in the Olympics and don’t dominate. Please research this topic because if you look into the

Actual instances we have of trans athletes who take hormones they simply perform at the level most women do. Some may have advantages in terms of maybe being taller, but that is a natural advantage that cis women have as well.

No matter how many hormones you take, you can’t change your fucking sex. You’re living in delusion if you think otherwise

This is correct. And it’s the official position of the AMA (American Medical Association). However the AMA also recognizes a distinction between sex and gender. Sex is biological. Gender is social. Those pts suffering from gender dysphoria have best outcomes undergoing what treatment? You got it: gender reassignment.

No shit, that’s why it’s called transgender and not transsexual anymore. Anyone who actually argues you change your sex is misinformed or bad faith. Male and female (or intersex) is sex. Woman or man is gender. They are categorizations with factors agreed upon by society, social constructs. Someone can identify with one category more and wish to be identified by others as that category. That’s what this is all about

Tbh if female is sex, than woman must also be sex, for a woman is just an adult female person.

Bruh Lia Thomas and Riley Gaines TIED in FIFTH. Also, Lia Thomas literally lost to a trans man… Plus, there’s variation within female athletes as well. Cate Campbell is a cis woman swimmer and the same height as Lia Thomas, but Cate Campbell has Olympics medals. Does Cate Campbell’s height make it unfair for her to compete? There are plenty of trans woman athletes who aren’t exceptional at their sports too. People just want to play the sports they love.

As for the locker rooms, I don’t think most trans athletes want to be in that situation either. I know a trans woman athlete, and she says that she would like to feel comfortable in the woman’s locker room, but she feels uncomfortable because she doesn’t want to make the other athletes uncomfortable. Riley Gaines also seems to have changed her story about the locker room situation at that meet, just as details about Lia Thomas’s height have changed (her 6’1 magically turned into a 6’4).

“Mediocre college swimmer before her transition” is also a weird way to say a top national swimmer

Yes, and that must have felt really bad for Riley Gaines. But there was only 1 5th place trophy and it happened to go to Lia Thomas. Riley Gaines got to hold the 6th place trophy on the podium and was told she would get a 5th place trophy later. Ideally, this would not have happened, but I’m not sure what a better response would be. You can’t cut the trophy in half, and it wouldn’t be good for neither athlete to receive a trophy. Riley Gaines getting the 5th place and Lia Thomas getting the 6th

Hey, just a reminder that trans people are people too. Cis people playing sports and banning trans people is “people playing the sports they love, but at the expense of other people,” which as you agree should not happen. And yes, athletes train all their lives to achieve feats like Riley Gaines, who worked hard and I’m sure could have had a great career if she didn’t give it up to be a right-wing grifter. And that includes athletes like Lia Thomas, who trained all her life to achieve her feats

Okay what about people who have XX or XXY chromosomes but have male genitalia? Plus, how are you gonna regulate that? You’re really gonna chromosome test every athlete? That sounds invasive and expensive..

You can’t have a league for every chromosome aberration theres xo, xxy, xxx, xxyy, etc, intersex with differing phenotypic sex characteristics, it would be pointless to try and regulate them all

I’m a dude and would you feel it’s fair to compete w a trans woman on hormones? We can crush women in most categories so like I don’t think forcing them in the men’s category is any better

Anonymous replying to -> #12 15w

Also I mean like if anything it does force women to compete w men in the case of trans men there was this really huge case that blew up because they were really upset that a man was competing in a woman’s category, but the thing is the trans man didn’t wanna be in the woman’s category and everyone tried to spin it like he was a trans woman trying to invade woman’s spaces
