Is it better to be lighter, more aesthetic, and weaker, or heavier and stronger. Always found when I cut I miss being strong and when I gain I miss the aesthetic.

Both, be stronger and aesthetic. Steroids

If you’re cutting properly you can maintain your strength while being lean. I’ve been lifting for 5 years, and still consistently make slight progress on my lifts even during cuts.

Do both. Don't have aggressive bulks or cuts. Let your body fluxiate just a bit based on how relaxed/strict you wanna be

Even then, I do very aggressive cuts and still maintain my strength. My usual program is 12-14 weeks in a slight surplus, then 3-4 weeks in a steep deficit to shave it off. I typically don’t lose any strength during these cuts.

My “aggressive” cuts are still 2k calories lol, and I lose over 2 pounds a week while fulfilling all of my macros and micros and feel great. I’ve been doing this for awhile

And whys that?

It's not sustainable

I don’t need to sustain fat loss anymore. The fattest I get is 17% at the peak of my bulks and it doesn’t take more than 4 weeks of cutting to get me lean. Sustainability is a concern for people who are looking for long term lifestyle changes, not for a bodybuilder who has experience and doesn’t need to do it for long.

You feel the need to bulk and cut in cycles. That means it's not sustainable. Hence not recommend

I’m a bodybuilder and want to get physically bigger. How do you suggest I do so without bulking?
