A lot of their new influencers look either average or below average compared to regular people who to go the gym. It’s like when Men’s Fitness tried to put unfit people on their magazine covers and went bankrupt. People don’t idolize regular people, we want to see a unique and hard to obtain physique, to strive to have, not just regular people.

Same for when woman look at models. They’re the top 1% fitness influential body type. The goal is have an individual who has peak genetics, has an above average physique, and who others can look up too.

It creates a harmful narrative to have these people promoting products and basically saying “if you just take this you can be like me.” I see your point but I’d say that most people just get discouraged when they’re flooded by these really abnormally attractive people. I think it’s actually more beneficial to sponsor people who’s physiques are more attainable so that people have more realistic standards as to what’s achievable with hard work
