ive been trying to workout more (running 2 miles everyday and doing light weights) but im still gaining a lot of weight. does anyone have advice on how to get rid of cravings and overeating?

If you crave Oreos go eat an Oreo, but it's important to recognize something: during a meal the first bite is always the best and it gets worse over time. If the second Oreo is a let down from the first, and the third a let down from the second, why would you eat twenty of them? Same mindset applies to any craving, all you really need is a taste, if you're hungry then go eat some real food but if you're craving garbage then have a little bit to get that first bite and move on.

don’t know if it matters but i’ve had two scary experiences where i passed out randomly due to not eating enough and i think im so scared of that happening again that i overeat

chug water when youre feeling like craving, you feel full AND get in water

running is probably making you hungrier. try cutting back on that and seeing if you feel less hungry. also, start using heavy weights. you won't build much muscle if you're not close to failure. "heavy" means "heavy for you"

if you track your macros and time your meals/snacks, there is zero chance you’ll pass out due to not eating enough. if you do, it’ll be due to other factors. tracking macros doesn’t have to be to the calorie/macro. just be conscious of what you eat

two times worries me, i’ve only ever come close to passing out but even that was on a batshit negative net cal deficit. maybe you should get your bloodwork done

Past that it's only effort and discipline. Tracking calories and protein intake is a good start, even if you just eyeball it. If you're at your goal calories for the day and you want more food sometimes you just have to go hungry, improvement is never an easy process.
