Its more healthy to build abs than it is to doomscroll and maintain a completely round body

not necessarily. depending on genetics they can show at a reasonable/healthy BF%

I’m not a girl but I have heard anecdotes about some women losing their periods when they go under a certain bf% so I would def be cautious. Not educated but I do know women have a higher natural bf% then men so I’d imagine the dangerous range of low BF is a little higher for women then it is for men

If you're getting routine health visits and bloodwork you should be fine. If you have extreme fatigue or lose your period or experience brain fog or body dysmorphia (especially impacting emotions towards eating- mental health is health too!) it's probably time to do a pro/cons list and consider if abs are worth it...

if you have body dysmorphia your perception of your size can't be trusted. ask a close, honest friend, or look at bmi. also, try upping your calories and see if the fatigue and brain fog go away. you're still getting your period? regularly?

i prefer not to look at bmi cuz i’m really short and a lot of muscle so it’s really high and misleading i’ve been working on eating more, just finding it physically tough to do. how long do you think it’ll take to notice a difference? i’m not getting it as much anymore…

bmi can be misleading but it will tell you if you are underweight, which is my suspicion. and since you have fatigue, brain fog, and don't get your period consistently, you're almost certainly not eating enough. for eating more, i would imagine you'd feel better after a few days, and back to normal when you got to a healthy weight. you'll have to figure this out yourself. i know eating more is hard, but for your health it's very important. plenty of people have advice on bulking which may help

i’m definitely not eating enough. i used an app just to see where i stand and was really surprised with how much more i should be eating. my bmi is 31 tho, so definitely not underweight. i’ve been lifting for a while and have a lot of muscle, just have trouble being satisfied with where i’m at visually.

i think it was mostly just a shock to me that my friend said he was concerned that i’ve been losing weight. that’s the opposite of what i’ve seen but he knows me really well so that’s interesting to me
