There’s a difference between someone minding their own business doing something stupid, and someone actively taking up equipment that others can’t use anymore to do something stupid. For example, if someone is hogging like 5 pairs of dumbells for supersets, then that’s a fucking problem. In this case, it’s a guy using up valuable equipment for a stupid exercise when objectively better variants exist with equipment built for that exercise.

Yes but they signed a waiver saying they wouldn't misuse gym equipment. This would constitute misuse

I’m just confused how using a smith machine for body rows is misusing it? Maybe I’m thinking of a different workout but I don’t think I am.

The point of a smith machine is to use it like a barbell but on a fixed path. It’s not supposed to be used for body weight exercises. If someone used the only bench press in a gym for declined pushups then that’s also misuse

Yeah I just looked up what body rows are and I was thinking of something completely different so I understand now
