it’s like 12-14h extended release max and metabolizes into the same exact compound as adderall, I’ve taken it on one off occasions several times and gotten near identical effects (I’m prescribed adderall xr). don’t be so assured when you don’t know either. regardless of how it’s prescribed, it’s not a good idea to take amphetamines daily for a long period of time
that’s just not true. no pharmaceutical company would sink the resources into a drug that is metabolized exactly the same way as one that exists. they are the same class, and have similar effects, but what you have been told is oversimplified and dangerous to tell people when it comes to going against doctors’ and pharmacists’ advice.
it is a pro-drug meaning it causes the same substance to be produced by your body, which is NOT the same as just putting that substance directly into your body. dextroamphetamine IS NOT a generic replacement for lysdexamphetamine even though they are metabolized differently into the same result.
Wrong, your body can't "create" dextroamphetamine. It's metabolized by enzymatic hydrolysis and breaks off the 'lis' (l-lysine) leaving behind just dextroamphetamine. Enzymatic Hydrolysis is the rate-limiting step that actually leads to a longer onset and smoother duration. Also, you don't need to take it everyday for it to work. I'm prescribed it as needed, 20 mg, same dose. -- a Psychology & Neuroscience Major w/ focus in Pharmacology :)
