What is the best HP book? Do not answer with your favorite book; answer with what you consider the best book in terms of story, characters, etc. I personally think the best is HBP (but my favorite is GoF)

Either 1 or 3. 1 is just perfect start to finish. 3 has a great mystery and lore and tons of intrigue.

IMO 3 is right behind 6 as the best book. It’s funny how neither book has any Voldemort scenes.

Can’t agree on 6. The memory sequences are awesome but the teen drama is kind of dumb. And I know that’s part of the point but she tried to make us believe she had been slowly building towards Harry/Ginny and it didn’t work. Plus the central conflict of “get on Slughorn’s good side” is kind of lame.

You don’t see PRESENT-DAY Tom though. And I think “get on Slughorn’s good side” was more of a tactic rather than the overall strategy

Present-day Tom is an uggo though let’s be real. And if it’s a tactic it’s lame. Dumbledore should have just drugged him or used imperio.
