Said I wasn’t having sex because I had an infection. Had one response saying “but your ass isn’t infected” and another asking if I was still down to give head. NO SEX MEANS NO SEX, FUCK ALL THE WAY OFF

To be fair maybe they’re looking at it as “oh, they said no for this specific stated reason, if I can get around that reason there shouldn’t be an issue”? Then again the “but your ass isn’t infected” is fucking wild and there’s a good chance the head one asked more disrespectfully than I’m imagining and also that this was fully motivated by horny disrespect as opposed to just horny problem solving

when u say “im not going to have sex i have an infection” that is unfortunately just not clear/broad enough to convey the idea you dont want to have any kind of sexual contact, youre expecting them to make an assumption instead of just broadening the scope of your denial. particularly, its the fact that you mention the infection, depending on ur wording it could lead dudes to believe that you might want to have sexual contact but cant because of the infection so they might offer up other ways

i mean depending on how long you met them, you do realize that they still don’t know you. you can meet with someone a few times, and for all you know they could be playing a part. it takes a lot of time, effort, and trust to see if the “rapport” translates into action and being charming and have good banter doesn’t really show you someone’s true intentions. if you’re not taking someone’s first no, that will tell someone that you aren’t safe especially if you’re going back and forth several times

anyway heres mah graph. if you revoke consent for, say, oral, especially when you give an explicit reason for why youre revoking consent for oral it is unclear whether youre also revoking consent for, say, sex. sex and oral are both sexual acts (refer to the graph for proof😉) but, they require different parts, so! when you say you cant do one cuz those parts arent doing so hot, Again!, it is UNCLEAR that you dont want to do the other one. thankfully, the graph points us to a helpful answer,

the definition of coercion is the act, process, or power of compelling someone to act against their free will by using force, intimidation, threats, or psychological pressure. even if you aren’t using the other three, if a woman says no over and over again to repeated suggestions of other sex acts because you don’t trust her intelligence or ability to dictate another one to you unprompted, that is psychological pressure which would make it coercion.

hey just a stipulation, there is a small correction and in fact oral is kind of a lesser version. so its not backwards compatible. meaning being against oral has a high likelihood of also being against sex sex. though the opposite is plausible

revoking consent for the umbrella term “sexual acts” will completely clear up any uncertainty! and i would reccomend people try that if what they want to communicate is that they dont want to perform any sexual acts. why would i EVER tell someone “my lips sore, i dont wanna suck your dick” if it was also my intention to explain to them i didnt wanna have sex? would that be clear? No! thanks

first, according to op, she wasn’t asked “does that mean everything is off the table?” he said “your ass isn’t infected” then when she said no once again, he asked about head. that is, in fact, over and over again. and second, if a woman is scared because you aren’t taking the no and keep throwing out other things, that shows us that you aren’t safe and when men aren’t safe there’s a possibility of violence which strips them of the free will to say no without intimidation. it’s not that hard

i dont like the idea that you gotta read all between the lines and shit just to preserve this persons feelings. they should communicate clearly or not be offended/take the idea as if its an expectation when you ask for clarification. in your hypothetical i think youre making the best out of a bad situation but i dont think the poor communicator should be putting you in a sitch where u gotta think abt all that

honestly it’s late, this conversation is all over the place, & i spent half of it jumping between 2 of you so i don’t immediately remember everything said bc it’s been 2-3 hours so i apologize. i scrolled up to find it to refresh and while i still disagree with you, as i don’t see it as a big deal to walk away if a girl is unclear & think it’s way better than pressuring them like how op experienced. i originally only responded to you after you got aggressive with another commenter not the og one

im not going to infantilize all women because some of them are people pleasers. i lwk expect adults im talking to to be able to communicate what they are and arent chill with and for 1 additional question not to sway their minds. like ur genuinely asking me to treat women as though theyre kids no? is this the expectation? shit ill do it if i have to i guess. like if ik this girl and ik she has problems w this yes ill treat her this way but the majority of women ive met were good communicators

i just understand the rape culture that we live in, and even good, well meaning guys benefit from the violence that horrible men enact. if a girl doesn’t know what man will respect her no, then the more pushback she gets, the more likely she’ll cave to protect herself or say yes the first time when she doesn’t want to.

all good, everything just clumps together and when one person gets heightened from one comment, i think it just dominoes and prevents meaningful conversation. especially on the internet when there’s a like hundred people, you can’t read tone, everyone’s anonymous, there’s a word limit with misunderstandings happening, and it’s fun to troll

i’ll agree it’s much more common in person. i personally still err on the side of caution over text though because as someone who thought they liked men for years before coming to terms with the fact that i’m gay, ik what it was like to have people pleasing tendencies and ignore my own wishes when i felt like i would upset someone, so i just think it’s better to go without than wonder if they didn’t want to upset me.

i don’t automatically think if you have good intentions and ask in a very mindful way if that means they’re opposed to all intimacy then that means you’re a monstrously disgusting person, but if you’re saying “well your ass isn’t infected” then that’s uncalled for and i’d probably call it out just like op. i personally wouldn’t do either bc i pride myself on being conscious of the past experiences my partner may have had and want to ensure consent is fully given without any external factors

Jfc. I couldn’t reply earlier (got high then slept) when the replies started building up, but while reading through just now I kinda just started skipping over 1’s responses bc they were obviously being unproductive and rage baity. Completely missed the explicit incel shit as a result

AND PEOPLE LIEK 1 and 11 say this isn’t coercive rape!!!!!! They make me so mad omgggg don’t get me started yall are so stupid and uneducated about rape and your willingly CHOOSING to traumatize girls. NO IS NO AND YRUST ME IF A GIRL LIKES YOU SHE WONT EVEN ASK AND U DONT HAVE TO ASK EITHER!! If you have to ask for something at this age, in a hookup culture, it’s usually a no!!!!!!!

But that DOESNT mean make a move if there was NO prior approval or consent and it’s important to remember EVERYONE consent can be REVOKED at ANY TIME!!!!!!!!

And that’s NOT an invitation to ask for other sexual acts or keep pursuing it. Cause ik in that situation, if I was SUDDENLY feeling better or now in the mood, I WILL START GETTING AFFECTIONATE AND SENSUAL AND THATS A SIGN THAT MY MIND HAS CHANGED. A MAN IS NOT GONNA CHANGE MY MIND THO. that happens on its own and sometimes doesn’t always happen. Men are so conceited and think they deserve whatever puh they can get and it makes me so mad.

i definitely agree with #1 being gross, but i think #11 and i were misunderstanding each other and started rage baiting. it sounds like he just needs to read more into the rape culture and how men in general benefit from women not knowing who is safe or not until it’s too late and is open to learning about it. i assumed he was saying it’s fine to ask over and over after a no but it seems like he just didn’t understand why asking once could be wrong if its well-meaning which is understandable

trust me, i definitely agree that even a small pushback can mean that you may not be getting full consent. as someone who’s experienced that myself and talked with other women about this i’m all too aware, but i can at least understand how a guy who doesn’t have these experiences and doesn’t have to think about that daily will need to look elsewhere and talk to others before coming to that understanding. i just don’t want to group him in with #1 if he’s actually open to understanding deeper

i definitely share your anger towards men who think constantly pressuring girls into saying yes is the same as getting a passionate yes from the jump, but if a guy is really open to learning more about the factors they don’t usually experience that play into consent then i don’t want to push them away from that by grouping them with the rage bait guys that have no interest in learning more. i’ll agree we both said ridiculous shit to get a rise out of the other but it ended a lot more productive

i hope you’re ok though girl bc we’ve all been through shit with guys who are genuinely selfish and only care about the next lay, and if you ever need to talk the girls are here for you 🫶

Lwk I stopped reading the messages. I don’t like the rage baiting either tho cause it lwk be so hard to know who’s being real or not cause they be saying EXACTLY what past abusers have said and that shit don’t fly with me at all. But I totally see where you’re coming from and I’ve also honestly given so many men the benefit of the doubt and I TALK to them abt it and you’re right, some just don’t have experience or they’re so brainwashed. It’s just sad and that’s why there needs to be EDUCATION
