It scares me that a lot of y'all's "horror stories" are just textbook SA and people laugh about them and talk about them as if it's normal

Yeah it sucks here. More people need to get prosecuted or see consequences for the shit they try to pull.

unfortunately it takes people years to realize they’ve been SA. Speaking from experience. It might be funny in the moment but there’s def a lot of denial from the victims bc we don’t believe it could be us

It will never be normal. Common ≠ normal.

This is not exclusively a men’s issue lmao. Men get assaulted by women all the time, it is just laughed at when men get assaulted. If men did anything that’s common for women to do they would be arrested so fast

Yeah if we’re REALLY talking about the stuff that gets laughed off easily it’s definitely when men are the victim, just not as common

men also commit an overwhelming amount of SA towards other men. not to say women cant be perpetrators, but its so statistically significant that acting as if the grounds are equal on the topic does not make sense.

95% of SA perpetrators are men. That’s a statistic fact. With women is 5% it still happens but it’s significantly lower than the majority being men. It’s usually the man who’s the perpetrator. The victim could be a dude even if it was a male assailant.

I think those stats are heavily skewed by the fact that when women assault men it is laughed at and never reported. When men assault either a woman or another man it most always at least be taken seriously and 1 million times more likely to be reported
