I mean what are you trying to build towards? “Let’s do it again sometime” or “I think we should stay friends” ?

i had to do this a couple weeks ago with a guy i’ve been friends with for a decade. i honestly just asked if we could address it and we did. i would say make sure that he has time to talk about it so you can have the full conversation. other than that, it’s kinda like a situation where you have to rip the bandaid off.
