The concept of neurodivergence has gotten out of control. When everyone to some extent is neurodivergent, then they aren’t really neurodivergent. People are just different. Think differently, act differently. That doesn’t mean they have a disorder!

People are just different. Some of us, however, are different specifically from the majority in a way that makes it difficult to function in the ways society expects of us, making social life, personal hygiene, work, overall maintenance of mental health, etc FAR more difficult, difficult enough that some of us need support from others to accomplish things that are basic for most. So no, there’s nothing inherently wrong with conditions that fall under the umbrella of neurodivergence, but in the-

I totally agree that there are people who are neurodivergent and that it can be disabling. However, from my experience it has reached a point in today’s society that we are grouping mild changes in brain processing as neurodivergent. Non-medical professionals are telling others they are neurodivergent.
