Leviticus 24:19–20 “fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; as he has done it shall be done to him.” If someone has killed I whole heartedly believe they deserve the same, but a baby in the womb who has done nothing and didn't ask to exist just because two people made a decision without fully comprehending the repercussions doesn't deserve to die. Simple

Leviticus is in the Old Testament. OT God commanded the death penalty for murder, kidnapping, disrespecting your parents, homosexuality, adultery, prostitution, and working on the Sabbath. I don’t think you’d agree that, in your opinion, committing most of these deserve death. In the New Testament, Jesus teaches you to turn your cheek to those who have wronged you. He quite literally condemned it “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone.” Jesus would not support this

But in the new testament Romans 13:1–4 St Paul explains “For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad … he does not bear the sword in vain; he is the servant of God to execute wrath on the wrongdoer.” I believe in eye for an eye and all the things you mentioned literally does not equal death. You just put words in my mouth. You can still uphold justice without seeking vengeance.

In America, the justice system doesn't actually do justice but contains them in my opinion. Fix the prison systems, rehabilitate, and then maybe my stance will change, but for now I will continue being anti abortion rather than fully prolife like you're claiming

You're the moron. Pro life rhetoric teaches to irrationally preserve the life on the basis of human DNA, which includes those on death row, who have human DNA. Doesn't matter if you're an unconscious, unborn fetus the size of a grape or a cold blooded killer. If it has a heartbeat it should live.

I hope you're not Catholic, because the Church makes a clear stance against the death penalty.

Hey so the Bible isn't just a rule book. It is a gathering of various scripts, tablets, poems, etc. The OT shows life leading up to the Messiah, then the NT shows the coming of the Messiah as well as his life, death and resurrection. The commandments from God in the OT were specific instructions to the Israelites for their survival, NOT FOR US!!! The point of the OT is to show the foreshadowing of Jesus and why we humanity a savior, NOT A SILLY LITTLE RULE BOOK!
