I think Love Island removing people for saying slurs in the past is dumb. It's created a toxic culture where fans immediately dig up everything they can find on the cast. It also takes away accountability from casting to find these things first.

Slurs in the past . . . And it’s from a year ago. I knew at 10 not to say slurs why wouldn’t someone at 21 and up know that.

Keep in mind this is the same fanbase that has a history of sharing old sex tapes of the contestants which is highly unethical. They even removed some guy for doing gay porn which I thought was weird. I don't like how the show rewards that kind of behavior. I feel like once casting clears these people through their background checks, they should just have to live with whatever they missed. We also need to have an honest conversation about the fact that most people have said a slur in their life.

I think we've clearly reached a point where the show would be forced to remove anyone who has ever said a slur in any context at any age. They've really dug themselves a hole legally.

Nope they should remove any person caught on a form of media that can be brought back up that brings bad press, i said I knew at 10 not to say slurs that doesn’t mean I didn’t I also knew not to get caught. I just don’t say them where I would get recorded or on any form of media that could catch me. But I’m also not a desperate loser going on a “dating” show.
