Food service workers do more for this country in a single 8hr shift than most military personnel will do in their entire career

That’s spicy I will say Death isn’t in your job description and putting on a uniform in the morning with DEATH as an accepted hazard of your industry does more for our nation than 500 of your careers. Just that 8hr shift, even if they take a 2 hours lunch.

You’re right they don’t fight for freedom but no they don’t fight for oil either they haven’t even gotten their “war loot.” The gulf war and Iraq war gave oil to European nations namely Britain and Russia and then China who got contracts. American oil companies actually lobbied against the war because it would fuck up their bottom dollar. And OPEC+ is still strong and reneged on the petrodollar. And why haven’t we invaded Venezuela then, etc.

Now for the military-industrial complex and defense companies there’s a case there. But more poignantly the affairs in the Middle East is to prop up a pseudo-crusader state that is Israel and more importantly the military fights for the bureaucratic-corporate oligarchy.

“Fight for oil” in my mind was more of a loose example to get my point across short and sweet. That is to say, it’s never about protecting and serving it’s about making moves to make the rich people in power more rich. We are on the same page my friend 😌
