i think in general buy someone something they don’t want and expecting them to be grateful is weird. yes it’s the thought that counts but you also can’t use that against them (“i bought you this so you have to do this”). i’m not saying you have to buy what they want, im just saying not to waste your time or money on something they won’t appreciate.
