Gosh - this post really made me think of my grandma’s chihuahua. He bites anyone who walks through the living room. Full-on snarling, snapping, chasing - even if they don’t approach him at all. No one can hug my grandma without him lunging. He won’t even let my grandpa sit next to her. It’s like he sees any interaction with her as a threat. And yet, he *also* bites my grandma. I honestly wonder if some chihuahuas genuinely have generalized anxiety - and it just gets overlooked? The poor dear.

100%. Yap dogs are only yap dogs because owners don’t train them bc they don’t see them as threat to others. Irresponsible pet ownership shouldn’t be taken out on the dog or the breed
