I do believe in a cell phone ban in schools, I just don’t believe in the Yondr bags method. Have the requirement that the phone stays turned off/silent in their lockers instead

I did substitute work in a school that uses Yondr pouches before and I can promise you they barely did anything

Does the ban apply to flip phones?? Children should be allowed to have a call-only cheap phone on standby in case of an emergency/intruder

Let me guess: the kids had about fifty different ways to get around the pouches? Because my biggest issue with those pouches has always been that they’re way too easy to bypass for their price.

Those could be in backpacks/pockets but again should be on silent or turned off during the school day unless needed. Also a medical exception should be allowed as there are heart and glucose monitors on the market that have apps to view the information.
