Idk if this is a hot take but tipping really sucks. I get that the workers don't get paid enough but that really shouldn't be my problem. I do tip at sit down restaurants but I feel like that's me being generous. If it's a café with an ipad, hell nah

I’m already there tbh. I literally just don’t have the money to voluntarily add 20% to every one of my purchases. I’ll tip well at a restaurant but I’m not paying 9 dollars for one coffee.

If it’s a place I won’t return to (coffee shop, or any other of the number of places now asking for tips), I won’t do it. But I feel like if I don’t tip someone who cuts my hair, makes a coffee, etc. 20% even if they get a salary, I’ll end up with bad service as they know I don’t tip. Even if they are paid to do exactly that…it’s crazy
