Given that the character has been around for close to a century at this point a fair bit a retconning is normal. My main issue with Snyder fans is that they see the darker, grittier storylines for Superman and think it’s the only version or the correct version. They don’t see the versions of him talking a girl down from committing suicide, racing Flash for charity, or having to deal with a fifth-dimensional imp as the “real” Superman. You can be sick of happy endings but the rest of us need that

Because we’ve already seen those storylines, we don’t need more of them. We know the good and greatness of Clark/superman but we want the lows too. You need a happy ending if so watch marvel or some of the animated DCEU movies. It’s okay to make a live action darker not in actual lightening because he fucked everyone with that in BVS which was bad but in actual story. Not everything is sunshine and rainbows, welcome to the real world.

No one said it needs to be all sunshine and rainbows, I just want Synder fans to stop acting like their Superman is the only correct Superman. We are gonna get the lows in this movie, have you not seen the trailer? People are PROTESTING him! Some people just see a brighter color palette and automatically think “oh it’s gonna be all sunshine and rainbows”

We don’t hate him because he’s not cavill at least I don’t hate him, I just think it is bs cavill got screwed over because a poor planning director. I also don’t like James Gunn his best movie to me is Scooby-Doo the live action from the 2000’s.

Gunn said he’s basing his universe on that show I think so I’m really excited. He’s definitely set the stage for darker storylines with Creature Commandos but I do like the overall lighter tone that will make it so every character will fit in the universe without feeling out of place

Being Superman is about hope and inspiration but you can do that and still tell a darker story.

I don’t think Snyder is a god, in fact I never brought him up. I said James Gunn isn’t comic accurate and pointed out what he is, an asshole that knows nothing about comics. But he is your god so everything he does is perfect. Have fun watching your precious Superman movie, if only you Gunn cultists would go see it like you say you would than maybe it’ll succeed
