I’m not a a conservative at all but the common conflation of republicans/pastors with child predators is somewhat disingenuous. While there are valid and legitimate reasons why that conflation is made. Child predators are in reality everywhere sadly…

No seriously bc why are we more worried about which “side” has more child predators instead of just fighting child predators 💀

true, but i think that at least siding with predators has some kind of link with being conservative. when it comes to a traditional mindset, victim-blaming and societal gender norms are at its core, yk?

…for me it was not a conservative or a pastor who sa’d me. It was a hs classmate who had political views more similar to Hasan Piker than Donald Trump.

Just bc a group of millions of people has pedophiles in it does not make it okay to shame the entire group. I mean republicans do the same thing with the LGBTQ community so we shouldn't do the same thing back

If we follow this logic: which demographic is the one that tends to track down predators to beat them with sticks? The “kill the person who touched my kid” crowd? It’s not people with more liberal beliefs I’ll tell you that This isn’t a partisan issue. Child predators can exist everywhere, and to insist someone could be safer bc of how they vote only increases their access unnecessarily. Fight those in power because they’re ALL protecting them right now. Not left vs right. Us vs them.

i'm not saying one side is better or worse than another. people in general have a violent mindset towards predators, that's fact. i'm saying that in instances of rape and molestation, people with a traditional mindset have shown time after time that they make excuses for the predator. that's just a pattern i've noticed

Recent pattern or recently the behavior surrounding one predator in particular? Bc that specific predator, and his massive conservative following excusing it is a related but still individual we need to address on a mass scale, I agree. But it’s more so due to a power idealization than political compass value determination

i wouldn't say just one person. obviously this predator is the first that comes to mind, but it's also with personal stories and stories i've seen of others. it's the "boys will be boys" mindset. it's the "well, what were you wearing?" mindset. it's prevalent with traditional values and traditional values are a core belief in the right. it might be a stretch to make the correlation, but it's a pattern i've seen

I could agree in an adult setting, but then have to bring up alternative of “well what about the assaulter’s life? They were mentally unwell they shouldn’t be punished” etc etc. But we are SPECIFICALLY talking about child predators here. If I ever hear of anyone asking what a 9 year old was wearing when their 57 year old teacher was touching them I’m partaking in some vigilante behaviors

Definitely not saying "maps" should be part of the community btw lmao. But obviously some pedos are queer and people use that against all queer people (even though most of them aren't and there isn't a statistically significant coorelation)
