When men go out to Valentine’s Day dinner dressed in basketball shorts, sweatshirts, and a baseball cap. Out at dinner right now and my BF is wearing a suit. Every other man is dressed so casually while their GF looks like they took all day getting ready.

It’s the obvious mismatch of effort that bothers me. It reads like a lack of respect

Eh I think if this matters to the woman than yes this is fucked up but I know for me personally as long as I’m with my man idc how he looks or what he wants to wear it doesn’t bother me at all. But I can completely understand how this would be upsetting

Yap yap yap, you sound like a chihuahua You think love is all about spending time with them? Love is respect. Even when the other person says they’re fine with it, the effort is the respect. Do you really think it’s about seeing your partner as a badge? I really hope you get out of this mindset, or else you’ll settle for whatever you’re given because you’re chill with anything as long as your partner ‘cares’ about you and ‘spends time with you’. Love is all about the small things:)

you can care about spending time with your partner more than what they’re wearing while at the same time wanting them to match your effort in appearance.

You’re making a lot of assumptions. The bottom line is that there’s a time and a place where effort is reasonable to expect. Birthdays, anniversaries, Valentine’s Day, etc. Wanting effort for special dates does not make someone shallow

And yet those men wouldn’t date women that just wear baggy shorts and sweatshirts everywhere. Take a break from the hypocrisy pookie
