for some things, it doesn’t matter if your dog goes in public or not. things like parvo can get spread by coyotes and feral dogs that don’t care about things like property lines. coyotes can easily hop fences too. our clinic is in a more rural area and we have seen unvaccinated dogs get parvo despite rarely (if ever) leaving their property/being exposed to other dogs on purpose

i’m also a vet tech and today i had to explain to somebody that no, just bc your dog is healthy right at this moment does not mean they don’t need their rabies and DHP vax 🙃

It’s not that the science is wrong per se. It’s their distrust of big pharma and their intentions/agenda, which is not too far-fetched I’ll admit

The covid vaccine works. It doesnt precent it but it injects weakened virus cells into your body so your immune system learns HOW to fight off the disease. Same with flu shot thats why you can get sick after the shot

We’re not disagreeing with the logic behind the procedure. I’m just commenting on the skepticism that maybe these vaccines aren’t what they seem to be and are detrimental to us because big pharma is sketch

after the rotashield thing and the Covid vaccine issues i can understand people having some hesitancy about newer vaccines, but we have many that have been around for decades and are proven to be (relatively) safe and effective. ofc we can never 100% guarantee anything bc every patient is unique

my clinic puts pressure on us to push the rabies vax bc it’s a legal requirement but the rest of them we can’t do much about.

When it boils down to it, its different risk tolerances. Some people don’t want to risk missing out on the benefits of a potentially good vaccine, and others don’t want to risk receiving a potentially harmful (on purpose) vaccine.

✨anecdotal evidence isn’t real evidence and does not trump decades of legitimate scientific research✨

How often does your dog interact with other dogs? Yours might not be sick because other dogs are vaccinated, but your dog is putting other dogs at risk.

Very often, never had any issue whatsoever

Again, your dog could be putting other dogs at risk

Respectfully, you do know what happens if your dog is suspected of having rabies right? Is your dog AT LEAST vaccinated against rabies?
