I understand people being annoyed with mansplaining but 9 times out of 10 the guy is just sharing their thoughts with no intention of being an asshole and is just shut down for having insight.

have you ever heard two men talk about a topic or how to do something? they start from the basics and based on feedback from the other person will skip past the bits the other person indicates they already know. try that maybe.

i think the lack of intent is part of it, that it’s so ingrained into our society that he doesn’t even realize that, hey, she already knows all of that! it’s the assumption that she doesn’t that’s the problem
